Over the last nine years Roland Mouret has firmly established himself as a leading light in international design. His work is recognised and commended both within and outside the industry for its originality and his unique vision of women’s sensuality.
In September 2006 Roland Mouret entered into a new partnership with Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment enabling him to rethink the how’s, when’s and where’s of fashion. From launching off schedule during Paris Couture with product available to order online within 24 hours of the show, to constantly pushing the boundaries of traditional delivery windows. Innovation that allows for new experiences and greater and faster access for his customers is always top of Roland’s mind.
With his new website soon to be launched, Roland shares Simon Fuller’s vision of “embracing the fast-ensuing digital world that informs, educates, and provides everyone access to the top table”.
With exclusive license to ground-breaking new technology and multimedia innovation, Polymorphic, Roland is challenging and revolutionising the relationship the fashion industry has with technology.
This project starts from a fundamental point of difference – this is not about a single aesthetic, a single show, a single dress. Polymorphic answers questions we all have when viewing shows and provides solutions. “I wanted to look at the clothes themselves, the women I dress and the way we view the collection quite literally from every angle - a multi-faceted approach”.
Around the room at his most recent SS10 show were no less than 28 cameras constantly filming numerous different views, from set up, through to show, and onto backstage. When it broadcasts online, there will be billions of permutations, enabling each viewer to see the show from their own exclusive perspective. Everyone will share the same experience in a unique way.
Like fashion, this project is experimental. There is room for error and as it has never been done before, there are some risks. But you have to try. Roland invites you back to this space to view his ‘works in progress’. A space and opportunity for innovation and experimentation exists here.
